{ general questions }
Name and age: Dessiree; 22 in 5 days!
What is your zodiac sign? Pisces
Do you think it fits you? If not, which sign to you think is a better fit?
As the twelfth and final sign of the occidental zodiac, Pisceans make comfortable followers. Pisces people don't find their direction easily. They are not self-propelled and they feel a certain distance from the rest of the human race. When things don't go their way, Pisceans may surrender to self-pity.

Pisces is the soul of sensitivity. Nothing escapes his notice. The faint rustle of a falling leaf that kisses the earth sounds, to a Pisces, like a huge truck smashing into a brick wall. Baby's whimpering in his crib is, to a hyper-susceptible Pisces, the wail of a thousand hungry infants. Pisces is born this way. Overly, tenderly, pricklingly, unrestrainedly sensitive. Pisceans tend toward all that is beautiful, gravitate to loveliness and crave the artistic. Pisceans are the sleepy, languorous, irresistible creators of whom we frequently don't hear a syllable. Not power-hungry, Pisceans are mostly humble and modest about achievements. They are not interested in fame. If fortune comes their way, they'll accept it. But Pisceans usually don't go after glory.

Pisceans are very proud people. They are not cocky, nor do they go around boasting of their conquests and masterpieces. Pisceans are easygoing and seem to be made of butter. Ask them to move an inch left because they're blocking your view. Without a word, Pisces shifts to the left. Suggest a new way of eating snails with a shovel. Pisces is right up there in the front of the queue, raring to please and adjust to whatever is required. But dare to challenge Pisces's deepest beliefs, disagree with his sense of taste or the spiritual tenet by which he lives, and the fish may well turn into a shark before your rapidly blinking peepers. Pisceans have profound personal integrity.

It's not uncommon for Pisceans to suffer. First, they are easily hurt. Secondly, they are afflicted with overwhelming self-doubt. Worldly accomplishment is beyond Pisces because it requires a firm connection to hard reality, which Pisces would rather avoid. Tough and ruthless competitors disguised as friendly warmhearted colleagues or companions may hoodwink the earnest Piscean and leave him beside himself in a heap of disappointment and bafflement He doesn't handle tactics or strategies well. He wants to remain aloof so he can dream and imagine and let his mind wander.

There are very few parts of that that don't completely describe who I am, and always have been.

Hobbies: scrap booking, card making, singing, music, being with my husband, makeup, photography, reading, I used to write but I haven't done much of that in awhile, graphic design, playing with my Corgi, movies, television, and most crafts.
Negative Points (at least six): controlling, depressive, overly emotional, overweight, lazy, very needy
Positive Points (at least six): open minded, compassionate, vulnerable, honest, creative, intuitive
Take this test. Which type did you get? Do you think it's correct?
Spontaneous Idealists are creative, lively and open-minded persons. They are humorous and dispose of a contagious zest for life. Their enthusiasm and sparkling energy inspires others and sweeps them along. They enjoy being together with other people and often have an uncanny intuition for their motivations and potential. Spontaneous Idealists are masters of communication and very amusing and gifted entertainers. Fun and variety are guaranteed when they are around. However, they are sometimes somewhat too impulsive in dealing with others and can hurt people without really meaning to do so, due to their direct and sometimes critical nature.

This personality type is a keen and alert observer; they miss nothing which is going on around them. In extreme cases, they tend to be oversensitive and exaggeratedly alert and are inwardly always ready to jump. Life for them is an exciting drama full of emotionality. However, they quickly become bored when things repeat themselves and too much detailed work and care is required. Their creativity, their imaginativeness, and their originality become most noticeable when developing new projects and ideas - they then leave the meticulous implementation of the whole to others. On the whole, Spontaneous Idealists attach great value to their inner and outward independence and do not like accepting a subordinate role. They therefore have problems with hierarchies and authorities.

I think that describes me pretty well. I'm not as energetic or social as that seems to say, but most everything else is accurate.

{ a little deeper }
Do you smoke or drink? What is your view on this things in general? No and very very little. I used to smoke, but I quit over a year ago and I'm so thankful for it. It's the most disgusting thing in the world and nothing good came from doing it. I also don't particularly like drinking or being around drunk people. Don't get me wrong, I partied tons up until about a year and a half ago. I just realized when I would drink I hated the way I felt the next day. I'd get hung over even from one glass of something not very strong. I really think there's no point or benefit from drinking. I will occasionally have a nice glass of wine when I'm up for it though! :]
Do you speak any languages (other than english)? No.
Do you like cooking? I like the result, but I don't always like the time it takes. I do enjoy cooking, but I prefer easy and quick meals.
What is your nationality? I really don't know. I know there's a ton of indian (not that you can see it) from both of my parents, but other than that I wouldn't know.
What was your favorite movie/book/series as a child? Movie: Hocus Pocus and The Lion King (still are!)/Book: The Poky Little Puppy/Series: Rugrats and Boy Meets World
What do you think inspires you? Everything from my spirituality to the earth to my family to random people on the street. I get inspired by just being alive everyday!
What would you prefer: hurting someone with the truth or telling them sweet lies? It depends on the truth, it really does. If it's something petty I will bend the truth (like saying they look okay in a pair of pants) but if it's big I'll ease the truth in (like their significant other is cheating).
If you were an actress, would you shoot a somewhat sexual scene for the sake of your career? No.
Are you close to your family? I'm close to the ones who are in my life, but I have family members (my mother) whom I have nothing to do with. We used to have a close relationship but once you're hurt by someone a certain number of times you do anything you can to remove them from your life.
Are you a vegetarian? No, but I have been thinking about trying that or Vegan for a few months now. I'm flirting strongly with the idea right now.

Can you describe your style?
Comfortable. I like jeans and a cute shirt with some flats. That's pretty much the only thing I ever wear.
Please, post a couple of your favorite pictures. Can be anything: a Leonardo da Vinci art piece, a simple cupcake... use your imagination! (flickr and deviantart may be useful here)

A gorgeous drawing of Hayley Williams from Paramore

I have been obsessed with this picture since sometime in high school. There's just something about it I can't get enough of. It's very sensual and I think it's the hair running together that's so beautiful.

My dad, myself, and my baby brother. <3
What is your favorite music genre, maybe some bands you like?
I am all over the place with music. I can honestly say I pretty much love it all. Right now (like this very moment) I'm reconnecting with Kings of Leon. :] I've listened to nothing but them for the past two days.
What is your favorite color?
Purple is number one and I like green at times.
Who do you consider your role model?
My role model was my dad growing up. Unfortunately, he's no longer alive, so I just have to remember the way he lived his life and the things he taught me. My dad had the biggest impact on me and he's the only reason I have all the good things in me that I do. Of course Jesus and my husband have major influence on me now, as an adult.
Pick three actresses out of the options. Can you relate to anyone of them? Why did you pick them?
Drew Barrymore, Kristen Bell, and Rachel McAdams. I relate to Drew in having a pretty dysfunctional mother-daughter relationship and I think her and I think a lot alike. She's a bit more out there and crazy than I am, but if I didn't have the relationship I do with my husband I think I would be exactly like her. I was very adventurous and outgoing before my father passed away and I married Robert. I relate to Kristen in her love and compassion she has. She seems to be very open hearted, especially towards nature and animals, which I'm the same. I just love Rachel McAdams, especially since I just saw The Time Traveler's Wife a few days ago! :]
